Head of the Labour Economics Division at the Center of Planning & Economic Research, in Athens; Visiting Fellow at Princeton University; Associate Professor of Economics at Panteion University in Athens; Teaching in several other Colleges and Universities in the USA and Greece, including eighteen years at the Greek Academy of National Defense; Elected (twice) Member at the Executive Committee of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE) and member of several International Conference Organising Committees. For about fifteen years, Greek delegate at the OECD Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Committee; In four of these years Vice-Chairman of the Committee; for about six years, Greek delegate in the EU Economic Policy Committee (for Labour issues) and another six years as the Greek Correspondent in the EU Network for Migration (RIMET); Member of many other Committees and Expert Groups in Greece and abroad: Among them, Vice-Chairman of an ad hoc Expert Committee of the Council of Europe for migration; a member of the Evaluation Committee of research proposals submitted to the Greek Ministry of Education for the ESF EU Project; For the period 2002-2006, EU-Wide Evaluator for the Project EQUAL for Greece and Cyprus, and the European Social Fund (ESF) for Greece, Cyprus and Malta.

Current research interests on human capital, labour mobility, migration and remittances. Presentation of papers in tens of international conferences in many countries; Publication of two books (Monographs) on Migration and on Regional Inequalities in Greece in the Center of Planning & Economic Research series of Scientific Studies, Publication of numerous papers in scholarly international journals, including Journal of Development Economics, Economic Development and Cultural Change, Weltwirtschaftliches Archiv, Economics of Education Review, International Migration Review, International Migration, Higher Education, Journal of Economic Studies, Labour Economics, Labour, Women’s Studies International Forum; Publication in collective international volumes of well-known publishers, including The Macmillan Press, Oxford University Press, Routledge, Tauris, OECD; Writing of tens of Reports for International Organisations and Institutes, as well as Greek research and public agencies, including several Research Reports for the Greek Economic Development Plans and two Policy Reports on behalf of the Greek Government on Employment and Unemployment in Greece, and on the linkage of wage changes to productivity changes in Greek manufacturing.
