Paweł Jędrzejko is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Literatures in English and Travel Writing, Institute of English Cultures and Literatures, University of Silesia in Katowice . He is a member of the Polish Association of American Studies, American Studies Association (ASA), Modern Language Association (MLA), as well as a member of the Melville Society and The Joseph Conrad Society UK. In the years 2003-2008, he served as the Executive Officer of the International American Studies Association. He is also an alumnus of an international organization Civic Education Project. A member of his home Institute’s faculty since 1995, Paweł Jędrzejko has performed the functions of the Academic Secretary of the Institute, Coordinator of the NeoLit Students’ Research Society, and co-organizer of numerous conferences and other academic events. He is a co-founder and co-editor of the Review of International American Studies. He regularly collaborates with the Er(r)go Quarterly and is responsible for the “Critical Notes†section, where he presents submitted books. To unwind, he goes sailing, sings sea-shanties in a vocal sextet Banana Boat, plays the guitar, or devises plans for future sailing expeditions.
