Edward G. "Ed"Schultz was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He graduated high school in 1942 and almost immediately enlisted in the army for duty in World War II. He was assigned to an armored division and after training at Fort Knox, he was sent overseas to England, where he trained for seven months before the D-Day invasion. He was wounded in action in late July in the area of St. Lo, France.
After treatment and therapy in a US military hospital, he began work in the motion picture theatre managment. After about ten years, he decided to seek another profession. He attended night school and took correspondence courses in engineering and drafting. He became employed in this new occupation and soon was appointed as Chief Engineer with a growing company. After twelve years in this supervisory position, he transferred to the company's sales and marketing department. Due to his extensive knowledge of the company's (military) products, Ed was appointed as European marketing specialist. For several years he traveled to Europe and Israel expanding his company's product applications.
Ed retired in 1989 and almost immediately began to fulfill his dream of becoming a published author. To date he has published two novels, a book of short-stories and a book of poetry. He has also created a photo-biography of the life of his renowned artist brother, William J. "Bill" Schultz.
Ed is now writing another novel which he hopes to publish soon.
