1817–1820, il accompagna le botaniste à bord de « *l'Uranie* » et « *La Physicienne* » un tour du monde par [Louis de Freycinet (1779–1842)][1]. 1830–1832, il est allé sur un voyage à travers l'Amérique du Sud à bord de « *l'Herminie* » au Brésil, le Chili et le Pérou. 1836–1837, il a participé à un voyage autour du monde par Auguste-Nicolas Vaillant (1793–1858) à bord de « *La Bonite* » partie.
