He is the former director of both the Cardozo Project in Urban Teaching and the Office of Staff Development of the Washington, D.C, public schools. Mr. Cuban is the author of *The Negro in America* and *To Make a Difference: Teaching in the Inner City*. He has taught high-school history since 1956.
