Ana Bahamonde was born in Arlington, Virginia (U.S.A). From an early age, she travelled all over the world since her father was a diplomat for the Ecuadorian foreign service. Some of the countries that Ana has lived in are the U.S.A, Cuba, Venezuela, Germany, Canada, Egypt, and Ecuador.

Ana's passion for literature was evident when she was just a child. When she was only 10 years old she wrote various children's short stories. In 1985 one of her stories " El Corcel Blanco" was published in Caracas, Venezuela, 1985, in a magazine called Linea Aeropostal. In 1989, her four short stories were published in the book "Alicia y Otros Espejos". The launching of this book was held in Bonn, Germany, and various articles were published regarding her early accomplishment as a young writer for children.

Ana studied law and obtained her Bachelor in Law from Quito, Ecuador. However,while working as an English teacher at the French school "La Condamine" and the International "School SEK" in Quito, Ecuador, she realized her passion was teaching English Literature. Therefore, she pursued English Literature and Education Studies in the University of Toronto, Canada. Here, she obtained her bachelor of Education and her Master of Arts in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning.

Ana has taught in various schools and international schools ever since. Some of the schools include the following:

-Emery Collegiate in Toronto, Canada.

-International School of Choeifat in Cairo, Egypt.

-Colegio Menor San Fransisco de Quito in Ecuador.

At the moment, she lives with her husband and son in Hamburg, Germany.
