Egypt Exploration Fund

**The Egypt Exploration Fund** (EEF), was founded in 1882, in order to explore, survey, and excavate at ancient sites in Egypt and Sudan, and to publish the results of this work. In 1919 the name was changed to *The Egypt Exploration Society*.
