Late Tar Ahura hails from Vandeikya LGA of Benue State, Nigeria, West Africa. He was born in Mkar, Gboko LGA of Benue State. He had his primary education at Demonstration School, Mkar from 1954-1961. His secondary school education was at Government Secondary School, Katsina-ala, Benue State from 1961-1966. He also attended Government College Zaria in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Late Tar Ahura bagged a B.A (Hons) Degree in English at the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1972 and a Masters Degree in Theater Arts from the University of Jos, Plateau State. Tar Ahura was Provost, College of Education, Katsina-ala, Benue State from 1990-1991, and Director, Benue State Council of Arts and Culture from 1992-1996. He was the Executive Director of the Agency for Adult and Non-formal Education from 1996-2001. Plays by Tar Ahura include Udoo's Journey (1982), Gone Crazy Once More (1987), Tor Yatar (2011).
