The first Pakistani to accomplish Doctorate in Turkish Language. He did ph.(D) in Turkology from Istanbul University in 1961. Compiled first Turkish Urdu dictionary of Indo-Pakistan sub-continent in 1968. wrote first Ottoman history in Urdu language based on original Turkish sources in 1967. His scholarly works on the Turkish poetry of Emperor Babur, great Turki philsopher & poet Mir Alishir Nevai, Bayram Khan the great commander and mentor of Emperor Akbar are master piece of research work both in Urdu & Turkish languages. While in Istanbul he interacted and worked with personalities of great international fame such as leader of Turkish independance & later on prime minister Mr. Ismet Inonu, Turkish religoius figure sheikh Said Nursi, independent Tataristan's exiled leader and renowned Turkolog Dr. Zeki Velidi Toghan who was his teacher in Istanbul University, Dr. Ahmad Jaferoglu, Halida Edip, Nihal Atsiz, Dr. Hamidullah( who first translated Quran in French language).
