[Deutsch] Heinrich Hirsch Graetz, hebr.: צבי (×”×™×™× ×¨×™×š) הירש גרץ, (geb. 1817 als Tzvi Hirsh Graetz in Xions, Provinz Posen, Preußen; gest. 1891 in München, Bayern) war ein deutsch-jüdischer Historiker und Religionswissenschaftler. Er war einer der ersten, die eine umfassende Geschichte der Juden verfaßte, ein Standardwerk der Geschichtsschreibung des 19. Jahrhunderts und eine auch heute immer noch eindrucksvolle Gesamtdarstellung der jüdischen Geschichte.

[English] Heinrich Hirsch Graetz, hebr.: צבי (×”×™×™× ×¨×™×š) הירש גרץ (b. 1817 as Tzvi Hirsh Graetz in Xion, province Posen, Prussia, died 1891 in Munich, Bavaria) was a German-Jewish historian. He was amongst the first to write a comprehensive history of the Jews, a standard work in the history of the 19th Century and even today a still impressive overall presentation of Jewish history.
