After growing up in Southern California, Cherie wrote columns for two Los Angeles area newspapers. In 1996 after moving to Yuma, AZ, for the great weather conditions, she was called to be a juror on a murder trial. After hearing the opening statements, she knew it was a captivating story that had to find its' way to the publisher. The book, "Murder by Gravity?" was published in 2007. A man who had been arrested for spousal abuse is released to house arrest where he murders his beautiful, bartender wife. He shaved his head and faked cancer to get out of jail and no one examined him before releasing him! Salty characters, sex games and even a top cop who goes bad before retiring; this story has it all.
Also by the author, "Undercover Cover-up," published in 2009, is another gripping true crime story of Yuma. A law enforcement officer who becomes addicted to meth and murders his commander and sergeant who catch him robbing the evidence locker late one night. How was it possible for a former Eagle Scout and Marine air traffic controller able to change so suddenly? Why didn't anybody notice?
