Walter Torres was distinguished in 2007 with the nomination for The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, Sweden, world's largest Children's and Young People Literature Award, was recipient in 2006 of the Gourmand Cookbook Award, Spain, for his illustrations on Puerto Rican Artisanal Cookery and in 2011 was participant in the 2nd Catalog of Ibero-american Illustrators, Mexico. With a Fine Arts background, studied Illustration in Parsons, New York City. Has worked his images in over 200 books for Pierson, Richmond, Santillana, Mc Millan McGraw-Hill and many others.
He strongly believes that the way we create reality based on our visual perceptions, is a great new science.
